This is currently where they stand. For her own sake of mind, while she knows it’s possible for them to meet up before the three year mart, she’s not going to think of him for the three years as much as she can. She won’t expect to see him on her birthday or at Christmas or any other holiday.

This is where they are: he needs to train to become the champion of Hoenn, and she needs to focus on her coordinating. But she’s resigned herself not to wait around the three years either. If they’re meant to be together, then they’ll find a way to be together.

But she knows she can’t let him cloud her thoughts for now. Tomorrow, she’s meeting up with Sird and returning to the penthouse to resume normal life.

I think she’s ready to let go now.

Hmm… Since Theo has popped back up, I figured an updated post about him would probably be a good idea. I figured out last night that he reminds me a bit of Riley, which could totally explain why Hikari is so infatuated with Riley. 

Theo writers history books and works from home. He’s always been interested in reading and education and all that jazz— it was his passion. Unfortunately, he didn’t begin making money off of it until later. One of the reasons that his and Johanna’s marriage fell apart was due to her lack of confidence in him, I suppose. 

Anyway, if I had to pick someone that looks like him, it’d probably be Bruce Banner in The Avengers (you know, when he’s not big and green). The way they dress is similar, and they both have dark curly hair. Theo is probably paler, though. The main thing about Bruce that reminded me of Theo was the fact that he just seems smart. There’s something about him that exudes intellectualism, and that is very much like Theo.

As it stands, Hikari doesn’t think she’s mad at him. She has a lot of pent up anger and aggression, but it’s fairly hidden right now because her relief over being reunited with him and her grief from the breakup are overshadowing that hurt. Theo knows this, and he’s told her that she’ll get angry at him eventually. He’s ready to accept anything she throws at him. 

They’re certainly very similar, though. Hikari looks more like her mother, but there are certainly traces of her father in her. Most prominently in her eyes, I think. But they are mostly similar in personality. Hikari appreciates intellectuals, which she picked up from Theo. She always inherited his interest and passion in the beautiful. He was the one who exposed her to the beauties of the world and its finer things. He took her to museums and monuments and places that most girls under the age of ten don’t experience. 

And Rosalind… Well… Hikari’s not really acknowledging her at the moment. She has other things to focus on. I can’t ever see her getting along with Rosalind ever, though. She can forgive her father, but she has no ties to Rosalind, and she’s far too loyal to her mother for that. I can actually imagine her being somewhat mean to Rosalind.

He’s putting them all under lock and key (save for the Pokemon) and won’t let her see any of it until he’s sure she’s ready to handle it. They agreed that she has awful self control and there’s no way for her to heal if she’s practically surrounded by things that remind her of him.

It feels like my home in Twinleaf, but with books instead of trophies. I don’t mind the trophies (they’re pretty and something to be proud of), but the books are nice. They remind me of my childhood. A lot of this house reminds me of my childhood, actually.

I guess it must have been her sitting in on FP TC, but she just lost it tonight. She didn’t reach for alcohol or anything like that, but she just sat there and cried while listening to their playlist and writing in her journal.

I could see the walls, though, and they’re not even built yet. But they will be. It occurred to her tonight— if the person she loved and trusted most in the entire world left so simply like that, what’s stopping anyone else? Flint, Hibiki, Cheren— they could all leave in a moment’s notice. After all, Barry and Lucas are gone all of the time.

What’s making anyone stay? They’ll all be gone eventually, and she’ll be left on her own.

One of the things I tend to notice the most about post-break up!Hikari is how impulsive she becomes. While dating, she’s always very considerate and careful about her actions. She considers what her boyfriend would want and think before making a decision, not because she is basing herself around him, but because his feelings matter to her.

When she’s single, she gets restless and often travels aimlessly, doing things she would never dare to before. Essentially, I suppose it’s because she feels as if she has nothing to tie her down anymore. I think Melody mentioned something about changing things about herself because of the break up, but I think it’s more of her…fulfilling desires she didn’t know she had because she was so content with her life beforehand.
